George Peabody's Video of Superferry's Wild Ride

video

Apparently the damaged and "hardly ever used" auxiliary rudders that are computer controlled to keep the ship from being tossed around are maybe a little more important than Superferry wants us to believe.
No way I'm trusting my life to this ship!

Oh, this is cool, Karen. I like that one snippet where is goes down, then way up, then way down. Holy mackerel! I understand there is more to the video. A friend of mine in Kapalua has watched this thing in this kind of a dramatic ride going north in the channel many times. She wonders what's happening to the cars onboard? Aloha, Brad

If a picture is worth a 1,000 words, I assure you that this clip is worth several million!

The video was taken from the shores of Molokai and was featured on Honolulu TV station KGMB.

It is such a bargain at $39. You would pay so much more for a three hour ride like this at the next county fair.

Looks like it might need seatbelts but if the thing gets tossed over, good luck...everyone goes under.

Aloha Hawaii,
The people of the Superferry, the Chairman,President, Governor etc., should ride the Superferry to see (the sea) if the ride is all that good safe and pleasurable.
Sooo many of the Administration's people say the Superferry is good let them ride it on a 'normal' day like we just viewed.
We need to hear their comments on the ride-ability of the ship.
This is only fair to hear their reviews/comments.

One of the things that is puzzling me is that supposedly the one million people on 'Oahu felt they absolutely could not live without the Superferry, but hardly anyone is using it! Where are all the folks who pressured the legislature to overrule environmental law and common sense?

I'm beginning to think it was a PR lie.

Today, the first day of running after Superferry left people stranded on Maui, we saw something like 90 vehicles leaving Maui including the National Guard. This was much more than usual so I think maybe a lot of people flew over to get their vehicles off Maui and back to their homes.

I wonder how cheap that turned out to be and if they also were stranded over here, waiting, waiting....for the Superferry to come back and get them?

Maui Mayor Charmaine Tavares forbid county employees on County business to use County funds to take the Superferry until it does an EIS. Smart woman, our Mayor. Air flight costs less than and our people don't get stranded on 'Oahu!

Aloha!

Wow, what I watched does not encourage me riding the Ferry at all, ever.
Besides, a meagre percentage of Oahu-residents have used it coming over to Maui.
So far it seems, the Superferry is a Superfailure.

So the Superferry is going in drydock for "approximately two weeks" from Feb.13 to March 3.That is 20 days, last time I checked 3 weeks is 21 days so this is just more lies from Superferry management. The question is will it return?
